These GRAPHISOFT approved training materials consists of multiple parts targeting users with different knowledge degrees of ARCHICAD. Each volume includes a PDF manual (an e-book, including detailed explanation of every step with images), narrated video clips (providing step-by-step instructions for the training guide) and ARCHICAD project files for hands-on practice.

The fourth volume of the ARCHICAD Training Series presents you the advanced modeling and documentation tools of ARCHICAD. It is intended for users, who would like to get a deeper understanding of the ARCHICAD’s modeling and documentation solutions, as well as students and teachers using it as part of the BIM Curriculum Exercises.
The purpose of this training guide is to simulate an architectural office environment. To be able to work efficiently in an ARCHICAD design office, certain standards have to be set in a template file. Loading this template allows the team members to adapt the same standards and avoid inconsistencies during modeling and documentation. Following this principle we’ll also start this training by creating a custom template.
After that we’ll miodel a multi-story office building from scratch. We’ll construct the base grid, create two towers and place slabs between the stories. Also we’ll learn how to properly set the representation of 3D model elements so that they are displayed on different project views according to architectural conventions.
Next you will learn how to construct the central stairwell using Hotlinked Modules. This technique significantly speed up working with repetitive elements. We’ll create stairs, elevators, and partition walls and get to know the parametric Library Parts of ARCHICAD. With the help of advanced modeling tools such as the Profile Manager, Shells and Morphs we’ll be able to create even very complex building geometry.
Following modeling you’ll learn about Zones that represent internal spaces and then we’ll add dimensions, label elements and create quantity takeoffs. We will also explore camera settings to create some quick renderings and fly-through animations.
Once the model is complete we’ll transform the different model views into proper documentation. The training will introduce you effective techniques for this project phase as well.

It is crucial that you complete the previous volumes of this training series before you start doing this one, especially Vol.3. Also, a general knowledge of architectural design and its terminology is desirable.
This training was made with the INT (English) version of ARCHICAD 19, therefore we recommend using the same version for practicing.
